Why this costs more than vinyl

It is a part, not a film

A precut vinyl kit is a sheet of adhesive film. A molding is a formed metal or ABS component pressed to the profile of one vehicle's window trim. That is where the price difference sits — and it buys you one thing vinyl genuinely cannot do.

It covers chrome that is already damagedVinyl is thin, so it follows whatever is underneath and pitting reads back through it. A rigid molding sits over the trim instead of conforming to it, which is the reason most people on older cars end up here.

Depth and edge, not just colourThe piece has its own formed edge, so the result reads as a different trim rather than a coated one.

The fastest of the three to fitNothing to measure, nothing to trim, no squeegee technique to learn. Line it up, press it on.

Built for the outside of a carCorrosion-resistant, weather-resistant and UV-resistant, and the smooth finish washes like the rest of the panel.

Moldings are not always the right answer

They are the most expensive of the three routes to the same look. Here is where each one genuinely wins, so you can rule this page out if it is not for you.

If your car is not listed

Moldings have to be formed for the car

Unlike vinyl, there is no universal version of this product — the part either exists for your vehicle or it does not. If it does not, you still have two routes.

Universal DIY · any vehicle

Want to do it yourself instead?

Vinyl is the fallback when no molding is formed for your car. It is a different product with a different finish — a film rather than a part — but it fits any vehicle and costs a fraction of the price. These are not cut to fit a specific car.

Straight answers

Stainless steel or ABS — which will I get?
It depends on the vehicle. Both materials appear in this collection and the material is stated in the product title and description for each kit, so check the page for your car before ordering. If it is not clear, ask us and we will confirm which one your set is.
How does it attach? Do I have to drill anything?
No drilling. The pieces have pre-applied automotive-grade adhesive backing and mount directly over the original window trim. No factory parts are removed and nothing about the car is permanently modified.
My chrome is pitted. Is this the right product?
This is the case moldings are genuinely better at. A rigid cover sits over the trim rather than conforming to it, so surface damage underneath does not read through the way it does with a thin film. Clean and dry the trim thoroughly first — adhesive needs a sound surface, and anything flaking or lifting should be dealt with before you fit.
Why is this three times the price of the vinyl kit?
Because it is a manufactured part rather than a printed film: tooled and formed for one vehicle's trim profile, in stainless steel or ABS. If the price is the deciding factor and your chrome is in good condition, the precut vinyl kit gets you the same colour change for less.
Will it fit my exact year?
Use the finder above, then check the year range in the kit title. Moldings are formed per generation, so a facelift can change the profile — if your year sits on a boundary, message us before ordering rather than guessing.
What if I want to remove it later?
The pieces are adhesive-mounted rather than drilled, so nothing is cut into the car. If reversibility matters to you — a lease, or a car you plan to sell — be aware that vinyl is the route specifically designed to be removed, and it is the one we would point a lease customer towards.
How long will delivery take?
Most orders leave us in 1–2 business days. Some less-common stainless steel and ABS configurations are not held in stock and may require additional production or sourcing time. The full breakdown is below.
Fast delivery on most orders

Most US orders arrive in about 3–5 days. Items prepared or cut for your vehicle typically take 5–7 business days.

Free shipping and tracking on every order. A small number of Stainless Steel and ABS configurations are not held in stock and need extra production time.
